WHAT IS A REGISTRANT?
When you or your organisation applies for a domain name from a registrar you become a registrant. Upon completion of the application you have the rights to that domain name for the duration of its registration.
When your domain is up for renewal, as the registrant you’re given the opportunity to retain control of it. If you opt not to, it becomes available once again.
