Problem
You may receive this following error message:
Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The certificate is revoked. (-2146885616)
Cause
The certificate was revoked on Outlook Web Access
Resolution
Obtain and install the latest service pack for Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004.
However, there is a work around to resolve this issue without downloading the latest service pack, please follow the instructions below:
You must first manually download the CRL (Certification Revocation List) of your certificate.
CRLs are provided by Certification Authorities (CAs). They are public, like root certificates, so you can easily find your CRL on your CA's website.
Once you've downloaded the .crl file, install it to the local computer certificate store by following these steps:
- Log on to the computer as a member of the local administrators group.
- Open the Certificates snap-in for the computer account.
- Expand Certificates,right-click Intermediate Certification Authorities, then go on All Tasks, and click Import.
- Follow instructions in the wizard to complete the installation.
Note: As the CRL is valid only for a limited time, you must periodically retrieve a new CRL
